New Voices
Creating Thought Leaders in Public Policy
New Voices is an initiative in collaboration with the Institute for Nonprofit Practice and CommonWealth Beacon. It is designed for new perspectives on public policy to shine through.
With three trainings a year (one virtually and two in-person), participants work with Renée Loth, opinion columnist at the Boston Globe and adjunct professor at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
During the training, participants will:
Understand the components of a compelling op-ed
Tailor their writing to specific audiences
Learn the etiquette of op-ed pitching
With these tools in mind, participants will take the next two months to collaboratively refine their ideas into an op-ed that will catch the attention of an editor. Op-eds that meet the standards set by CommonWealth Beacon will be published.
